QURIYAT
A quaint fishing town around 80km South of Muscat, with a strong history defined by the resistance to Portuguese invasion. Quriyat is a coastal village with a seemingly never ending sandy beach, accompanied by small dunes, lagoons and mangroves.

The long sandy beach and promising wind provides for a safe and enjoyable kitesurfing experience during the winter season. During October to April, temperatures range between 18-30 degrees, with wind speeds up to 35 knots. In the cooler months, December to February, it's advised to bring a wetsuit whilst kitesurfing. As with many beaches in the Sultanate, the Quriyat shorelines are peaceful and uncrowded, coming alive before sunset with the joyous locals playing football and horseback riding.
